Africa Tech Ventures invests in the growth of high potential start-ups in Sub-Sahara Africa. We focus on companies that increase access to essential goods and services for African consumers or provide solutions that help businesses access markets and financial services. Technology plays a critical role in achieving scale and efficiency for all our investee companies. We invest between USD 100,000 and USD 5mio, in exchange for a significant minority equity stake and can participate in multiple financing rounds.

African Tech Ventures aims to provide both capital in areas of HR, partnerships, sales, strategy and expansion, helping to build scalable businesses and number of 1-3 players in their niche, and thereby creating superior financial returns and real impact through increased access of affordable essential goods and services and job creation.
Board seat comes with advice on finance, HR, strategy, opening networks. Representatives sit with the businesses almost weekly to see where else they can help; recruiting, client introductions, building partnerships, improve financial reporting, etc. Then they can provide 3-month interns and longer term venture partners to assist with specific projects.
